Lifeline! Stewardship, Succession and Sustainability

Within our body, many systems work together to keep us functioning and active throughout our life. The way the body’s system works is to complement each other to achieve the perfect balance for daily life. As children we learn from our parents what it means to keep our bodies properly conditioned. We hold the responsibility to care for our bodies and provide it with sufficient nutrition and exercise to remain in tip top condition. That is our Lifeline as humans.

Apart from a biological perspective, we also have to survive and groom ourselves to be better people through our interactions and through the decisions that we make in life. It is in the many ways that we work and learn from each other to achieve a common consensus when coming together for a common purpose that helps us better ourselves as leaders. That is our Lifeline as leaders.

Leadership requires such a system of functioning together to keep the Leaders constantly complementing the talents of one another and striving hard to achieve for the future. However, it is not enough for us to be satisfied with the most basic of achievements which is why we are constantly working to improve what we have.

Stewardship, Succession and Sustainability come to light when the time comes for the senior Leaders to step down. To ensure that the Lifeline of our leadership goes on, we have to successfully pass down the tools of the trade and help our junior Leaders be prepared for what they have to face. We have to teach them the way the seniors before us have taught us. This is our Lifeline.
